BRINGING DISNEY MAGIC TO LIFE
As a photographer, there are certain moments that just feel like pure magic, and my recent Disney-inspired photoshoot is one of those moments. When I saw a post from Humble & Pine Studio about their new studio setup in their barn, it instantly sparked an idea. The space was practically begging for a Disney photoshoot, and as soon as I laid eyes on the photo of the set, I could already see the vision in my mind.
I knew I had to bring that vision to life, and that's when I decided to do a model call for a photoshoot based on the character of Meg from Disney’s Hercules. If you've seen the movie, you know that Meg is a fierce, independent, and sassy character with a heart of gold—and I wanted to capture all of that in my photos.
When Mariah reached out to me, I was thrilled. She told me that Meg was her absolute favorite Disney character, and as soon as I heard that, I knew we were the perfect match for this shoot. Mariah was so excited about the chance to embody Meg for the afternoon, and I was equally excited to collaborate with her.
As Mariah arrived at Humble & Pine Studio, I could feel the energy and excitement in the air. She told me that she had been listening to songs from the Hercules soundtrack and other Disney songs on her way to the shoot. Immediately, I knew we were going to have an amazing session because I had done the same! We had a good laugh about that. But, that just really solidified both of our excitement for this! Growing up, Disney was a huge part of my life, and I still enjoy the music and movies today. Mariah and I shared that same love for Disney, and it felt like we were meant to do this shoot together.
Once we got started, Mariah absolutely nailed the character of Meg. She effortlessly brought the persona to life—whether it was her expressions, her body language, or her overall energy, she was totally in character. Mariah made it so easy to capture the perfect shots. She had a natural ability to channel Meg’s confident and fun spirit, and that’s what made the session so special.
Every detail of the shoot came together just as I had envisioned. The lighting, the set, and of course, Mariah’s portrayal of Meg, all worked perfectly in harmony. The barn setting at Humble & Pine Studio was the ideal backdrop, giving off the right vibe to make the photos feel timeless and magical. It was a true collaboration between us, and I couldn’t have asked for a better model or a better shoot.
In the end, this Disney-inspired session wasn’t just about capturing beautiful photos—it was about sharing a moment of joy and creativity. Disney has a way of sparking nostalgia and wonder, and being able to bring that to life through this photoshoot was an absolute dream come true.
